Seller verification for high-value listings

Modified on Sun, Nov 2, 2025 at 11:12 AM

To list high value items, you need to verify your identity. Verification helps keep buyers and sellers safe and reduces fraud.

Verify with a “.edu” email

Best for anyone who has an active .edu email address.

What you’ll do
  • Go to Settings  Account Verify Account.

  • Select Verify with .edu email.

  • Enter your .edu address and submit the one-time code we send.

  • Enter the code to complete verification.

Verify with name, DOB, and SSN (U.S. only)

Best for US sellers without a .edu email or who prefer ID-number verification.

What you’ll provide
  • Legal name (as it appears on official records)

  • Date of birth

  • The last 4 digits of your US Social Security Number (SSN)

What happens
  • We securely submit your information to a trusted verification provider (Stripe) to confirm your identity against authoritative data sources.

  • This is not a credit check and does not affect your credit score.

  • Your information is never stored on Circova server, as it is submitted directly to Stripe for review.

  • No document photos are required for this method.

Privacy and security

  • Your verification data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

  • We use it only to verify your identity and keep the marketplace safe.

  • We never share your SSN or email address with buyers.

If verification doesn’t go through

  • Make sure your legal name matches public records (watch for hyphens, middle names, suffixes).

  • Try the other verification option, or contact support from Profile → Get Help with a brief description of the issue.

FAQs
