What to upload
Your own photos of the actual item (not stock or catalog photos for used items).
High-resolution images so buyers can zoom for details. Circova recommends at least 500 pixels on the longest side.
How to shoot great photos
Light it well: shoot in daylight near a window or under bright, even lighting.
Use a clean background and remove clutter, so the item stands out.
Show all angles: front, back, sides, label/model tag, and power ports.
Add close-ups of wear, scratches, stains, or repairs. (Disclosure builds trust and avoids disputes)
Include scale when helpful—place a tape measure or coin next to defects or key dimensions.
What not to include
No text, watermarks, logos, artwork, or marketing material on photos.
No collages or multi-image grids; upload separate photos instead.
No added borders around photos.
No misleading or generic images that hide the actual item.
No placeholder images used to convey messages
Privacy and safety
Don’t show faces, kids, mail labels, licenses, or home addresses in your shots.
Move the item away from personal spaces; clear reflections in mirrors/screens.
Why these rules?
High-quality images improve the buying experience, so listings that follow these rules are more likely to sell. These rules also ensure that your photos follow the rules of popular internet search engines. Was this article helpful?
